TLDR: Uniswap is a DEX protocol (docs.uniswap.org). The usual alternatives are other routers and venues that cover multiple DEX protocols. Rift is an aggregator with best price execution. It includes Uniswap and the venues below, adds 0 fee, and uses Uniswap when Uniswap wins for a route.
