How Do I Buy HYPE With Ethereum?
Rift Research
Last updated
TLDR: HYPE lives on Hyperliquid. The native market is HYPE-USDC on Hyperliquid spot. The first action is a send from Ethereum onto Hyperliquid. Rift is an aggregator with best price execution. It includes Unit, Across, LI.FI and the other inbound venues, adds 0 fee, and selects the best live path automatically.
Hyperliquid documents the venue as an L1 with an onchain orderbook (HyperCore) and HyperEVM. Start trading guide: How to start trading. About the chain: About Hyperliquid.
The send, then the buy
- Send ETH or USDC from Ethereum toward Hyperliquid (often as USDC or another listed inbound asset).
- Buy HYPE on Hyperliquid spot (HYPE-USDC).
- Pay Hyperliquid’s published spot maker/taker schedule on that second leg.
A CEX listing of HYPE requires an exchange account and custody, and a withdrawal may still need another transfer onto Hyperliquid. Compare the final HYPE received after your actual trading fee, spread and withdrawal costs. A CEX listing does not imply a better rate. Rift enforces noncustodial execution with no added router fee; include the underlying trading and network costs when comparing the complete route.
Other options, then Rift
| Path | When it is reasonable |
|---|---|
| Unit (HyperUnit) inbound | Purpose-built deposits into Hyperliquid. Confirm minimums. Docs: docs.hyperunit.xyz |
| Across / other intent rails | Fast EVM USDC or ETH toward a Hyperliquid-connected path |
| LI.FI or another aggregator | You want their coverage or widget |
| CEX buy + withdraw | The asset and withdrawal network are supported, and the quote is competitive after your account's fees |
| Rift | You want best price execution across those inbound venues at 0 added fee |
Rift supported chains include Ethereum and Hyperliquid. If Unit wins, Rift can give you Unit’s rate with no Rift markup. If another inbound path wins, you get that path.
After the send lands
On app.hyperliquid.xyz: Spot → HYPE-USDC. Do not buy a copycat “HYPE” on another chain.
Unit publishes minimum sizes and confirmation counts. Sending below the current Bitcoin or ETH minimum is a loss condition. See Supported assets and API confirmations.
