Rift vs. 1inch
Rift Research
Last updated
TLDR: Rift is an aggregator with best price execution. It includes 1inch and all other supported venues in its routes. Rift adds 0 fee on the route, so you are guaranteed at least as good a rate as going to 1inch directly. If 1inch has the best route, Rift gives you that route with no added fee.
1inch is one of the longest-running DEX aggregators, optimising swaps across on-chain liquidity sources. Rift is an aggregator for cross-chain routes on Bitcoin, Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, Hyperliquid, RobinhoodChain, Tempo, XLayer, Ink and Pharos. They address different user jobs.
Short version
| Dimension | Rift | 1inch |
|---|---|---|
| Role | Aggregator | DEX aggregator |
| Fee | Zero added fee on every route | Path-dependent (underlying pools + any interface components) |
| Scope | Cross-chain on supported chains | Primarily DEX aggregation, with some cross-chain capabilities |
| Best for | Cross-chain best price execution | Best on-chain swap routing |
Where each wins
1inch wins when:
- You need the best price across DEXs on a supported chain
- The trade is primarily same-chain
Rift wins when:
- The trade is cross-chain on Rift’s supported chains
- You want best price execution with zero added fee
Key differences
1inch optimises DEX paths. Rift includes 1inch in its venue set where the route overlaps. If 1inch has the best rate, Rift gives you that rate with no added fee.
When to use which
- Use 1inch for DEX aggregation.
- Use Rift for cross-chain routes on its supported chains when you want best price execution at zero added fee.
