Rift vs. LI.FI illustration

Rift vs. LI.FI

Rift Research

Last updated

TLDR: Rift is an aggregator with best price execution. It includes LI.FI’s underlying venues and all other supported venues in its routes. Rift adds 0 fee on the route, so you are guaranteed at least as good a rate as the winning venue LI.FI would have used. If that venue has the best route, Rift gives you that route with no added fee.

LI.FI is the broadest cross-chain aggregator in active use: 50+ chains, deep DEX and bridge coverage, mature SDK, widget, MCP server and agent tooling. Rift is an aggregator focused on Bitcoin, Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base, Hyperliquid, RobinhoodChain, Tempo, XLayer, Ink and Pharos. It compares venues and selects the best available rate with zero added fee.

Where each wins

LI.FI wins when:

  • You need chains or tokens outside Rift’s supported set
  • You want the most mature agent and developer surface (MCP, CLI, widgets)
  • You need a single integration that covers the long tail
  • You are building a general-purpose cross-chain product

Rift wins when:

  • Your routes stay on Rift’s supported chains
  • You want best price execution with zero added fee
  • Native settlement is a requirement

Key differences

LI.FI monetises via a service fee and optional integrator fees. Rift charges nothing on the route; any 0.1% that appears is from Rift OTC (a separate venue) only when that venue wins.

Both aggregate. Rift’s differentiation is zero added fee and best price execution on a focused chain set. LI.FI’s differentiation is coverage and tooling.

Rift includes the same class of venues LI.FI routes through. If one of those venues has the best rate on a Rift-supported route, Rift gives you that rate with no added fee.

When to use which

  • Default to LI.FI for broad multi-chain products and agent integrations.
  • Use Rift when the product only needs Rift’s supported chains and best price execution with zero added fee matters.

Get the best execution.
